Shopping

Guess what I did today? Shopping. I got up at 4 a.m. and had gotten into town around 5. I went to WalMart to pick up a digital camera. I have never spend so much money on me, LOL. I rarely spend about $200 on me. It is worth it. The camera has 6.1 mp. I was thinking of getting a new one anyway. The one I had was 2.1 mp and is about five years old. Time for an upgrade. I just now tested it and I love it. It was worth the sale! BTW, both cameras are Kodak, my favorite company for photography.

I also spend about $74 dollars on my nephew. Christmas gift and new shoes and Diesel 10 toy. I had been meaning to add on to the collection in my house. I might get one or two toys per paycheck. Oh well. Next one will be Emily. I like her style of engine.

Hey, Mike, I love this new camera. Email me if you get a chance.

Yes!

That works, LOL. That is the picture of it. This is the first half of it. The second will be stitched soon, LOL.

Trying this again.

There is supposed to be a picture of the project, LOL. This is the first time I did this. I hope that it will work.

Happy Dance!

I have my first half of my project done. I am so happy about it. This is a Christmas gift to my older sister.

Thanksgiving

What do I think of Thanksgiving? I think of the Mayflower passengers who had a feast with American Indians. I think of turkey (Ben Franklin wanted that as our national bird). I think of cranberries, stuffing, pumpkin pie.

But, what am I thankful for? My Lord, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for me. As I look back through this year, I am thankful that I cracked down some things about my family history.

I remembered one year, my grand-aunt told me that we had a relative who married the daughter of the one who came on the Mayflower. So, I borrowed the tree, so I can put it in my records. It is a big tree. I looked at it, and looked at it, and looked at it. Finally, I called her up and told her that we are descended from the Mayflower. Since then, I did a lot of research of my ancestor. His name? John Howland. I am descended from his daughter, Hannah, who married Jonathan Bosworth (second Jonathan). His wife, Elizabeth Tilley, also came on the Mayflower. Every Thanksgiving, I am honoring them. BTW, this is the same ancestor of FDR, George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush. I am related to Churchill, Nixon, and Ford, through his brothers.

John Howland almost did not make it. He fell off the Mayflower, but he grabbed on to a halyard (rope) and the others pulled him in. He was a steward. To me, even though he my 10th great-grandfather, he is my hero. I am still researching him. For more information, go to this website: http://www.pilgrimjohnhowlandsociety.org/

That fit me, LOL

I happen to like Lilies. Especially the miracle one. We had an Easter Lily that did not bloom again. Well, that November, it had bloomed. I ended up bringing it inside. I call that my Miracle Lily, because God gives us miracles in our life.

Trying it again

You are a Lily:
You are graceful, gentle, calm, and pure and
perhaps a little shy (though your shyness is
part of your charm). You are a very honorable
person who always wants to do the right thing.
Your calm attitude has a soothing effect on
others.
Symbolism: The lily has long been used as a symbol
of majesty, honor, chastity, and purity of
heart.

Work

I had won a $10 gift certificate to Bob Evans restaraunt from my job. It was for the pic of Emilee in her Halloween costume. She looked so adorable in it.

We had an United Way drawing. What did I win? A heater. I am planning on using that in the kitchen, as the kitchen in my house gets very cold in the winter when the wind blows against it. It was mom who had given me that idea. That dining room is also bad in the winter. I hated that. It is a Black & Decker heater. I like it already.

Stitching

There is nothing but joy to have needle and thread in your hand. I am stitching a gift for my older sister for Christmas. I will definatley have this done, as it is a quick stitch. It is a Halloween frame, designed by Pam Kellogg. I will put a pic of her dog in a costume in it. My older sister likes it when I stitch things for her. I had stitched a fox in the snow for her and her wedding sampler.

You can see the fox one under gifts. http://community.webshots.com/user/pualanijo

Relationship II

Remember my mentioning Dennis in my relationship post? Well, things are getting better with him. He is a member of United Church of Christ. Me, being LCMS, have no problem with this.

Well, we still talk at work. We would look at each other's eyes and not say a word, but one of us will have to break the eye contact, LOL. It is still harvest time for him, corn this time. He told me that he was going to call me on Friday, but his phone went dead, LOL. Well, I was not at home. So, that is a good thing. When I am on the same break with him, I take my break with him. He even met me near the door, as I was running late. We like to walk to our cars. Maybe I see God's hand in this. Who knows?
