Grandfather
I had received word from my aunt about my grandfather. He has blood in his stool and urine. To me, that is not a good thing. I am very concerned about him. I was shaking when I found out about this. He could die at any time and I am scared. He is in WI, I am in OH.
I had just gotten back from Gallipolis with my boyfriend for about three hours. My aunt called and asked for my father. I ended up calling my younger sister. Then, I called my dear boyfriend (God has given me this man and now I know why) and told him what is going on. I learn one thing about my dbf, he is very patient with me. I told him that I am going to need a lot of hugs. I cried today. This is very hard on me.
Grandfather is 89 years old. He is in the hospital. He is very stubborn. But, when I had last visited him two years ago (I did not go last year, due to work), he wanted to die. Even when he and grandmother lived in their house and their apartment, he lost his will to live. He does not like it when other people take care of him and losing his independence. When he is gone, I wonder how grandmother will cope. She is 90. Grandfather will be 90 in July. I am hoping that he will live until his birthday, from the way things look, it won't. I know he is waiting to go to the Lord.
I used to work in a nursing home, but being a granddaughter and being a nurse aide are two different things. I am a granddaughter first, then a nurse aide. And now, I am just a granddaughter. I will look for a pattern that when he die, I will stitch in memory of him.
